Leicester City ready to sign two Defenders Incase Harry Maguire Move to Manchester

United late transfer window business points towards a club worried about losing c to Manchester United before tomorrow’s deadline.

According to the Daily Mirror, Leicester City are on the brink of two defensive signings in the form of Filip Benkovic – who completed a medical on Monday – and Caglar Soyuncu as they’re braced for a late United bid for the £65million-rated Maguire.

Manchester United have not given up on Harry Maguire, has he been linked with the Red Devils on a number of occasions recently after some strong form in the Premier League last season and at the World Cup this summer, with Jose Mourinho known to be in the market for a new center-back.

Maguire kept Phil Jones out of Gareth Southgate’s starting XI in Russia – and pipping Chris Smalling to a place in the squad altogether – it makes sense that Mourinho could see Maguire as an upgrade on the pair at Old Trafford.

The Mirror suggests Leicester are preparing for the 25-year-old’s departure, which should be encouraging for United fans hoping to see their club conduct some late business.

An earlier report has it that Jerome Boateng has informed Mourinho he’ll not like to move to Old Trafford. Another news report has linked United strongly with Tottenham’s Toby Alderweireld.

It remains to be seen how this defender chase will play out for United, but with the Alderweireld saga dragging on, Boateng snubbing them, and Leicester strengthening at the back, Maguire now looks a decent shout for the Red Devils.
